Bring on Round 2

sorry for the delay, wanted to wait til lunch to formulate my ideas of how important last nights victory was. Yes we are we are taking it in stride, Yes we are all a bit subdued and the reason why that is, is because I think every single one of us knows that the goal that we have all wanted and have talked about is now more a reality than ever before.

 

We know where Shattered Dreams stands right now.

 

We know the composition of this team.

 

We know what a team-wide effort is.

 

Last nights game was such a good game. It was the type of game that defines teams character and heart. We were missing two of our key players, we fell behind by 4 runs, there were some hard-to-stomach misplays, we had our star batter struggle at the plate and we were still able to overcome and get the first ever Shattered Dreams Post Season Victory. What a game.... On to the Highlights.....

 

Craig "CC" Collins. Before we talk about the offensive display lets bring up how important his defense was. Two HUGE throws from the outfield to end 2 innings that could have been really troublesome for us. His throw to the plate when the player was trying to tag up beat him by a good 5 seconds. His throw when the overly aggressive cremaster tried to move from first to third was dead on and Craig put the tag on. Got us out of 2 possible huge jams. Well Done. Offensively, 3 for 3. Great game and hats off to Craig for stepping up big in the playoffs.

 

Seltzer... Warrior... Playing injured and hobbling around the bases in more than enough reason why nobody on this team should lollygag. Not that anyone ever does, it just sounded really good. Making sure the team did not get down and remain focussed, he belted a tremendous 2 run HR in the first inning to tie the game. Defensivley solid as always. Also, way to step up big.

 

The rest of the team played great... Pitching, hitting, walking, making throws. hustling.... Just a great time-wide performance... Duff played a great second base...

 

Now, we look forward to Monday Night. We have two games left. 2 Teams that have contributed to our 3 losses. 2 teams that we need to get revenge on. Best Bars will get the bye because they beat the Twinkies last night. CTE Engineers is the team we face first. Jessie Orosco shut us down last time. It was then we revamped the lineup and came together. The end is near. It is in our grasp. Every single person on this team is focussed and ready. Round 2 begins in 6 days.... SHATTERED DREAMS BABY!!!!!!!!
