On a beautiful 75 degree night in Harlem USA, Shattered Dreams congregated outside of the dugout feelling great about seeing everyone again and being together as a team.. The Lineup was announced with a few changes to last years lineup and the season was about ot begin..
Focker in typical lead off fashion started the season with a free base by having a great eye and taking a walk. This opened the door for Ian Rohin to get comfortable in his new #2 hitting spot. Did he ever. Rohin came up to bat and blasted a ball that went over the right field fence for a ground ruled double. The last few years, this would have been a 2 run home run but this umpire had his own rules. Either way, it elevated what was already and insane crowd on the bench..
I don't have the score book but the RBI's started coming and the hits started coming... The team played tremendous for being rusty and playing on a field that was tough to play on..
Some key points of the game were Jerry Miller's play... Raw Dog contributed both on Offense and Defense... Will made one of the best throws he has ever made to Jerry who was waiting in perfect position to the tag the Dango's go-ahead runner out at home plate... Big momentum shift.. Then after giving up a few runs and losing the lead, with a runner at first base, the Speedy Brian Perles, he hit what might have been his best shot in his Shattered Dreams career, a roping RBI triple in the gap. It was our go-ahead run and we never looked back.. Well done..
Perles... Pitched a stellar game with 3 k's... He was treating the opposing team like Simon treats Anthony Fiderov... Filthy.. Changing speeds and making them look silly for a majority of the game... well done.. also went 3 for 3....
Our 2-3-4-5 batters..... Awesome run production.... great start of the season...
Other notables.... Mark and Brodsky, welcome additions to the bottom of the lineup.. 2 rbis... Flat playing an insane 3rd base and scotty miller patrolling the side line... Next game is Monday... I know Focker won't be there....
