Maturity

Congratulations on an excellent victory last night. The team knew that it was an important game and played with determination. Playing against a team of Mal-contents, we kept our heads in the game and played, what i think, the best defensive game we have played in a few years.

 

It's amazing what a team looks like when they argue with themseleves during the game. The team un-raveled and began spewing spanish insults to each other. I think i heard the 2nd baseman call the pitcher a PENGA GRANDE.. That behavior is unacceptable on a Yorkville Division 3 softball squad. It reminded me of the days in season 1 when Marc Haike called Britt Colombo a Pretenious Outfield Prick Bastard. Man, have Shattered Dreams Come along way. Pretty funny when you actually think about it... Anyway on to some of the highlights of the victory:

 

BP - Has been pitching tremendous this season and has kept us in every game this season so far. He should have 3 victories. Way to work around 3-0 counts, change speeds and get many of the batters to make lousy contact with ball. Keep up the good work and we will step it up for you next week in your absense.

 

Collins - Wanted to have a big game more than anybody else and stepped up large in the first inning by hitting a 3 run HR to help calm everybody down and allow us to play with a little cushion. Well done.

 

Jon - A mark of consistensy this season. Has a bit of a streak going. Don't want to mention it but it is up there with Ken Griffy Jr., and Alex Rodriguez. Don't like using his name in comparison but it fits. Well done.

 

Jerry, Jeff and Will - Great play. Jerry had a huge HR. Sick shot.. Will and Flat played great defense. All-around great game....

 

Here is the thing, some us had off-games last night and some of us stepped up. That is how a team plays. It is great to see and everybody senses it. It is pretty cool. The 10 of us have a great chemistry after playing for years with this squad. Great showing at brother Jimmy's too. 10 played, 10 showed up.. awesome..

 

Remember that time first season when Buji called Antinucci a Filthy Fanuuk or that time when Will called Doug Corrigan a lushy bastard? Shattered Dreams has matured...  Next Monday is going to be tough match for us. Flat will be taking the mound and Robbie won't be available either. Good job last night....
